Monica Bedi (born 18 January 1975, in Hoshiarpur, Punjab) is an Indian actress and television presenter. She debuted in Hindi films in the mid-1990s.Monica Bedi got her first break in Tollywood in the film Taj Mahal in 1995 produced by D. Ramanaidu. Apart from Taj Mahal, he had also cast her in another film Sivayya with Dr. Rajasekhar as hero. Noticed in a video album by Muppalaneni Shiva, the director had recommended Monica to be cast in Taj Mahal. She was cast as a heroine in another film he directed - Speed Dancer - produced by T V D Prasad,[2] after she shot into fame with her debut Hindi film, Suraksha opposite Saif Ali Khan.
Monica Bedi is most known for her films such as Jaanam Samjha Karo, where she was in supporting role with leading actress Urmila Matondkar, opposite Salman Khan, Jodi No.1 with Sanjay Dutt and Govinda, Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat with Arjun Rampal and Aftab Shivdasani, Suraksha opposite Saif Ali Khan and Sunil Shetty, and Tirchi Topi Wale.
Bedi was an inmate in Big Boss Season 2, a television-based reality show on Colors. She was one of the contestants of the reality dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3 on Sony Entertainment television channel where she proved to be a good dancer. Her choreographer partner was Javed Sanadi. Monica was a contestant on NDTV Imagine's Desi Girl reality show.
She sung the divine chants 'EkOnkar' for spiritual music album on Universal Music. Ek Onkaar launched in Chandigarh. It is a spiritual offering where Monica has rendered her voice. The album is a compilation of the revered mantra of the Sikhs called 'Mool Mantra' which is one of the holiest chants from the holy book of Sikhism 'Guru GranthSaheb'.
She is playing the title role in a Tamil movie as Devadasi. The story revolves around an aged use of Devadasi complement as well as Monica plays a Devadasi from Peddhapuram area in Andhra Pradesh.
She acted in her first Punjabi movie titled Sirphire as the main female lead opposite Priyanshu Chatterjee, Preet Harpal and Roshan Prince, directed by Harjit Singh Ricky and produced by Gurpreet Singh Sidhu, which released in August 2012. She also won PTC Award for best debut in this film. Monica Bedi is currently filming for Rambo Ranjha, with Jazzy B, Garry Sandhu, and directed by Navaniat Singh. The film is set to release in 2014. Now Monica Bedi is in a totally new avatar. She's been playing role of a Senior Cop in her new upcoming Punjabi movie "Rambo Ranjha".

Kulkarni won the 2001 Screen Award in the Best Actress category for her role in the Marathi film Jodidar (2000). She won the 2003 Star Parivar Award in the Best Jadui Kirdar category for her role in the serial Sonpari.[dead link] Her recent movie 'Thang/The Quest' directed by Amol Palekar, won National Award. Laila Mehdin is an Indian actress. She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi language films. She is probably best known for her Critically Acclaimed and Award-Winning Performances in the Bala-directed films Nandha (2001) and Pithamagan (2003) & the Commercial Blockbusters Dheena (2001) and Dhill (2001).She made her debut in the Telugu film Egire Paavurama (1996) directed by S. V. Krishna Reddy. Laila began to receive offers from prominent directors to feature in Tamil films and turned down films such as Dharma Chakram and Kadhal Palli by K. S. Ravikumar and Pavithran respectively. She subsequently signed on to appear in the lead role in VIP after Pooja Kumar had walked out of the project. However Laila was left unimpressed when the producer asked her to consider changing her stagename to Pooja, as the invitations for the film had already been printed, and furthermore, she revealed that her unawareness of Rambha also being a part of the film. Laila subsequently dropped out of the project, wanting to make her Tamil debut in a film where she played the sole heroine.
The Mumbai-based Laila then worked with Ajith in Dheena and Parthen Rasithen with Prashanth.
Then came Dhill and Pithamagan with Vikram. In between, Laila took a break and went back to Mumbai. However, she returned to Kollywood with a big bang. Her role in the movie Ullam Ketkumae won her accolades from the masses. She is a very successful Tamil actress.

Lalita Pawar (18 April 1916 -- 24 February 1998) was a prolific Indian actress, who later became famous as a character actress, appearing in over 700 films in Hindi and Marathi cinema, where she gave hits like, Netaji Palkar (1938), made by Bhalji Pendharkar, New Hana Pictures' Sant Damaji, Navyug Chitrapat's Amrit, written by VS Khandekar, and Chhaya Films' Gora Kumbhar. Her other memorable roles were in film, Anari (1959), Shri 420 and Mr & Mrs 55, and the role of Manthara, in Ramanand Sagar's television epic serial, Ramayan.Born Amba Laxman Rao Sagun (1916-04-18), on 18 April 1916, into an orthodox family in Yevle in Nashik, where her father Laxman Rao Shagun was a rich silk and cotton piecegoods merchant, she started her acting career at age nine in the film, Raja Harishchandra (1928), and later went on to play lead roles in silent era and 1940's films, in a career that lasted until the end of her life, spanning seven decades.
She co-produced and acted in a silent film, Kailash (1932), and later produced another film, Duniya Kya Hai in 1938, a talkie.In 1942, as a part of a scene in the movie Jung-E-Azadi, actor Master Bhagwan was to slap her hard. Being a new actor, he accidentally slapped her very hard, which resulted in facial paralysis and a burst left eye vein. Three years of treatment later, she was left with a defective left eye; thus she had to abandon lead roles, and switch to character roles, which won her much of her fame later in life[citation needed][dead link]
She was known particularly for playing maternal figures, especially wicked matriarchs or mothers-in-law. She also notably played the role of the strict but kind Mrs. L. D'Sa in Anari (1959) with Raj Kapoor, under Hrishikesh Mukherjee's direction, she gave the performance of a lifetime, for which she received Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award; as the tough matriarch who falls in love in Professor (1962), and the devious hunchback Manthara in Ramanand Sagar's television series Ramayan. She was honored by the Government of India as the first lady of Indian cinema, in 1961.

She made her acting debut in 2008, for the film PUC.Harshika Poonacha was born on 1 May 1990 in Ammathi, a small village in Kodagu district of Karnataka as the only daughter to her parents. She acted in her first film PUC when she was 18 years old and doing her PUC at Christ College. In 2007, she finished her pre-university course. Poonacha spent the next two months working as a television show anchor, before beginning a professional course. She anchored programs like Nimmindha Nimagaagi, Hrudayadinda and the Sarigamapa television reality show. She joined Cambridge Institute of Technology, Bangalore's electronic engineering course and completed her BTech degree in 2011. In 2010, Harshika acted in an important role in Jackie, which catapulted her to an instant celebrity status.She later appeared in Thamassu with Shivrajkumar for which she won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress, and played Ramya in Nariya Seere Kadha, in which Ravichandran played the lead role. She also acted in a film named Cycle opposite Shivarjun. She played the daughter of a crorepati who gets kidnapped for ransom in the comedy film 5 Idiots. In 2013, she first had two releases in a row, Cycle and Ale and her third release Managana Kaili Maanikya opposite Ramesh Aravind, which was her first comedy film, in July. Her two films, B3 a love story directed by Gana Shyam with Srikanth and Adwaitha an action-based film directed by MB Giriraj which has Ajai Rao in the lead, released both on December 6.
She has signed her first Tamil film Anandha Thollai.She also has a Telugu film titled Panipuri coming up.
She also appeared in a video album Hoo Manase. She and her cousin Bhuvaan Ponannaa own a company called Glamgod Fashion and Events and conduct fashion shows and fashion weeks.

Devika Rani Chaudhuri, usually known as Devika Rani (30 March 1908 -- 9 March 1994), was an actress in Indian films who was active during the 1930s and 1940s. Widely acknowledged as the first lady of Indian cinema, Devika Rani had a successful film career that spanned 10 years.
Devika Rani's early years were mostly spent in London where she studied architecture, and started her career as a textile engineer. In 1928, she met Himanshu Rai, an Indian film-producer, who persuaded her to join his production crew. She assisted in costumes design and art direction for Rai's film A Throw of Dice (1929). The two married in 1929, and went to Germany where Devika Rani learned different aspects of film-making in the UFA Studios in Berlin. Rai then cast her in the 1933 talkie Karma in which her performance received critical acclaim. Returning to India, the couple established their production studio Bombay Talkies in 1934. They produced many women-centric films throughout the decade, with Devika Rani portraying lead roles in most of them. Her on-screen pairing with Ashok Kumar became popular in India.
Following Rai's death in 1940, Devika Rani took over the control of the studio and produced several films. At the peak of her career she retired from films, and in 1945 she married Russian painter Svetoslav Roerich, leading thereafter life of a recluse. Her persona and roles in films were often considered socially unconventional. Her awards include the Padmashri (1958), Dadasaheb Phalke Award (1970) and the Soviet Land Nehru Award (1990).

Divya Om Prakash Bharti (also Bharati or Bharathi) (25 February 1974 -- 5 April 1993) was an Indian film actress who starred in a number of commercially successful Hindi and Telugu films in the early 1990s.
Bharti began a career as an actress in Telugu films with the film Bobbili Raja in 1990. She progressed to Hindi films in 1992 with Vishwatma. Bharti went on to have commercial success with films like Shola Aur Shabnam and Deewana that same year, for which she garnered a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She acted in over 14 Hindi films between 1992 and early 1993 which is till date an unbroken record for a newcomer in Bollywood.
Bharti died on 5 April 1993 at the age of 19, after falling from her 5-storey apartment in Versova, Mumbai. Eye witnesses reported to have seen her slip down the parapet of her balcony after losing balance. It remains unclear if her sudden death was of accidental nature or suicide. However, the possibility of murder can be dismissed.

A finalist in Femina Miss India in 2009, she made her acting debut in the Telugu drama film Vedam (2010).During her first year at college in 2009, she was spotted by a Femina Miss India contest scout during an NSS event, who persuaded her into modeling and to participate at the beauty pageant. She created a portfolio with the help of a friend of her father, and competed in the contest. In spite of her lack of modeling experience, she was one of the top 10 finalists, winning the Fresh Face title.
During a modeling assignment in Hyderabad, the casting director of the Telugu film Vedam by Krish, had spotted her. She made her acting debut in the 2011 film Saarathi.Deepa Sannidhi took part in the audition tests conducted by the Saarathi film team and was selected to play its lead role after undergoing two rounds of tests. The film was declared the biggest blockbuster of the year.[citation needed] While shooting for Saarathi, she signed her second film Paramathma directed by Yograj Bhat, which released a week after Saarathi. Paramathma also went on to become a successful venture. Deepa was chosen as the Promising Newcomer Female for Saarathi and Paramathma in The Bangalore Times Film Awards 2011. In 2014, she was first seen in Endendu Ninagagi as Soumya, "a very bold, in-your-face, today's girl". She stated that the role was "quite challenging because this is not me" but that she loved playing it. She will be making her Tamil film debut in Lucia, a remake of the same-titled Kannada film, in which she will play the character that Shruti Hariharan did in the original. Even before her Tamil debut she signed up her next Tamil film, Vishnuvardhan's Yatchan.

Payal Ghosh is an Indian film actress who has mostly acted in Telugu films.She studied at St. Paul's Mission School, Kolkata  and graduated in Political Science from the Scottish Church College.
When she was 17 years old, she had accompanied a friend to an audition for Sharpe's Peril and landed a role in the BBC telefilm. In the period drama based on English soldier Richard Sharpe, Payal had played the role of a village girl, the daughter of a revolutionary freedom fighter from Bengal. Payal also starred in a Canadian film in which she played a school girl in love with her neighbour's servant. Since her parents disapproved of her decision to join films, during her college holidays, she ran away from her home in Calcutta and came to Mumbai. She joined Namit Kishore's acting academy where she met Chandra Sekhar Yeleti who offered her the lead role in his Prayanam opposite Manchu Manoj. Later she was seen in the Telugu films Mr. Rascal and Oosaravelli and the Kannada film Varshadhare.
She has completed her first Tamil film Therodum Veediyile, directed by Saro Sriram, in which she plays a traditional girl, who lives in Erode. She was selected as the female lead by Vivek Agnihotri for his Bollywood film Freedom and filmed for it in 2012. While the film has not released yet as of 2014, she has signed another Hindi film, a yet-to-be-titled comedy opposite Vir Das, directed by Sanjay Chhel.

Her film debut was with Nagesh Kukunoor's Bollywood Calling and she gained international recognition for her role as Jenny in Subhash Ghai's Joggers' Park (2003).Zorabian's first screen appearance was in a Clearasil television advertisement, which she had made before she moved to New York. She continued with advertisements for health care products after her return to Mumbai, and, in 1997, acted in a music video for Lucky Ali's Nahi Rakhta Dil Mein Kuch. She subsequently played "Maya" in the TV serial Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye.
Zorabian did a minor role in Mumbai Matinee (2003). In 2004, she played a supporting role in Morning Raga and made a cameo appearance in Dhoom. In 2005 she appeared in Ek Ajnabee opposite Kelly Dorjee, and a year later with Malcolm McDowell in Exitz. Her more recent films include Highway 203 (2006), Moonlight (2006), Just Married (2007) and Kabhi Up Kabhi Down. She has also acted in a Chinese film, Bandung Sonata, in which she played Indira Gandhi.
Zorabian owns a restaurant named Gondola in Mumbai.

Pooja Gauthami Umashankar (born 25 June 1981), mononymously known as Pooja is an Indian-Sri Lankan actor, who has primarily appeared in Tamil films as well as Sinhala, Malayalam and amateur films. Following a series of successful commercial ventures, Bala's Naan Kadavul saw Pooja's performance as a blind beggar praised by the critics, securing major awards, including the South Filmfare and Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. She simultaneously worked in Sinhala cinema and was part of several successful films like Anjalika (2006), Asai Man Piyabanna (2007), Suwanda Denuna Jeewithe (2010) and Kusa Pabha (2012), thus establishing herself as one of the leading actor of Sinhala cinema.Pooja was introduced by a friend of her to cinematographer-turned-director Jeeva, who signed her for the role of Anglo-Indian girl in his Tamil venture Ullam Ketkumae. Pooja said that at that time she planned to finish that film and return to her original job and did not take an acting career into consideration. She stated: "I said to myself I'd act in just this film, see what it's like, make good use of the money and get back to studying". She was soon offered a role opposite R. Madhavan, which she could not decline and made her rethink her decision. Ullam Ketkumae's massive delay meant that her second film, the romantic comedy Jay Jay (2004), directed by Saran, became her first official release. Pooja received favorable reviews for his performance in Jay Jay; G. Ulaganathan from Deccan Herald wrote: "Spirited, lively, Pooja's sparkling eyes and smile do leave an impression". Similarly a critic from nowrunning.com noted: "[A]mong the two new heroines, it is Pooja who scores with her good performance and dances..." She next played the romantic interest of Ajith Kumar in another Saran film, Attahasam, which, in spite of mixed critical response, went on to become a financial success. Pooja, too, met with criticism, with critics citing that she had "only limited role" and was "wasted [...] in an insignificant and half-baked role". Pooja's subsequent release happened to be Ullam Ketkumae that featured her in one of the five leading roles alongside Shaam, Laila, Arya and Asin. The film fetched positive remarks and emerged as a sleeper hit. She went to appear in several hits like Thambi and Pori which finally established her as a star heroine in Tamil cinema. In 2007, Pooja also appeared in Malayalam film titled, Panthaya Kozhi. She bagged the lead female role in Bala's Naan Kadavul.v Pooja could not have scored.Her portrayal of Hamshavalli, a blind beggar, was critically appreciated and earned her several accolades, including the Filmfare Award for Best actor--Tamil and Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Female Character Artiste. Following Naan Kadavul, Pooja went on a sabbatical, appeared just in camo roles in TN-07 AL 4777, Drohi and the Telugu film Orange.
She became a sensation in Sri Lankan film industry and a name after the success of Anjalika (2005) and Asai Man Piyambanna (2007). She then on went to appear in several blockbusters in Sinhala cinema and rose to high popularity. Her big budget film Kusa Pabha released in early 2012 and became the highest grosser ever in the history of Sri Lankan film industry. Critics praised Pooja for her role of Pabawathi.
Pooja has been a part of a short film titled Mirage that was shot in September 2011. She says, her good friend Abhishek Venkteswar asked for her participation in this short film. The film was screened in various short film festivals in India and The West Midlands International film festival in UK, fetching accolades for the film and Pooja's performance. When she was shooting for Mirage, she also starred in Smoking kills a short film made by University students as a student welfare initiative.
She was one of the judges in the popular reality dance show Aatam Paatam Kondatam opposite dance master Prasanna on Kalaignar TV, Sun TV.

The movie had strong shades of incest. She performed in a few more movies before filming Anokha Pyaar (1948). In 1950, she garnered fame when she became a top star with her performances opposite Ashok Kumar in Samadhi and Sangram. Samadhi was a patriotic drama concerning Subhas Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army. Although the leading movie magazine of the day, Film India, called it "politically obsolete", it enjoyed success at the box office. Sangram was a crime drama in which Nalini played the heroine reforming the anti-hero. She and Ashok Kumar performed together in other films, such as Jalpari (1952), Kafila (1952), Nau Bahar (1952), Saloni (1952), Lakeeren (1954), Naaz (1954), Mr. X (1957), Sheroo (1957) and Toofan Mein Pyar Kahan (1963).
Nalini remained an important leading actress through the mid-1950s, appearing in such films as Rahi (1953), Shikast (1953), Railway Platform (1955)), Nastik (1954), Munimji (1955), and Hum Sab Chor Hain (1956). The 1958 film, Kala Pani, directed by Raj Khosla, was Nalini's last successful movie, for which she won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. Bombay Race Course (1965) was the last film she made, before retirement. After 18 years, she returned as a character actress in Nastik which marked her last film appearance.

In the same year, she was back into the spotlight when she played the role of Jaya Bakshi in Bride and Prejudice. She played Aishwarya Rai's elder sister in the film. The film was a hit overseas particularly in the UK but failed to do well in India. She left the industry after her marriage.

Prior to become a TV reporter, she started hosting TV shows in Bahrain, when she was barely fourteen years old. After graduating in Mass Communication from Australia, she moved to Sri Lanka, where she relocated at her grandparents place, and joined a Television station. From then, she began reporting and investigating mainly on political turmoil. According to an article published in Lanka Journal, she had aspired to become an actress, when she was eight years old. Although, she was a TV reporter, she accepted offers to join the modeling industry, which came as a result of her pageant entrance and for which she was crowned the Miss Sri Lanka Universe 2006, and represented her state at Miss Universe 2006 held in Los Angeles where she was unplaced. In 2007, Fernandez appeared on her first commercial in a music video for Sri Lankan duo Bathiya and Santhush.

He has been given the title 'Bade dil wala' (man with a golden heart) by his housemates.

Dara Singh (19 November 1928 -- 12 July 2012) was an Indian wrestler-turned-actor. He started acting in 1952 and was the first sportsman to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha (upper house) of India. He worked as Hindi and Punjabi film producer, director and writer, and he acted on film and television.He started his career as an actor in 1952 with Sangdil. He was a stunt film actor for many years and played his first lead role in Babubhai Mistry's film King Kong (1962). From around 1963 he partnered often with Mumtaz. With her he performed in 16 Hindi films and the couple became the highest-paid B-grade actors, with Singh receiving nearly four lakh rupees per film. He then went on to do television in the late 1980s, where he played the role of Hanuman in the television adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayan. He was liked more in the role of 'Bheem Sen' in films like Veer Bheem Sen and Ramayan and in role of 'Hanuman' both in films and TV serial. He worked with Prathviraj Kapoor in Sikander-e-Aazam, Khakaan, Lootera, Daku Mangalsingh and Insaaf. He also played the Alexander in Sikander-e-Aazam. He worked in some television serial shows, including Had Kar Di which was aired on Zee TV and Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa for StarOne. His last Hindi movie was Jab We Met and last Punjabi movie released before his illness was Dil Apna Punjabi. He acted in National Award winning film Main Maa Punjab Dee directed by Balwant Singh Dullat. He directed seven Punjabi films of which Sawa Lakh Se Ek Ladaun, Nanak Dukhiya Sub Sansar, Dhyanu Bhagat, Rab Dian Rakhan were commercial hits,[citation needed] and directed two films in Hindi, Bhakti Mein Shakti and Rustom (1982). His directorial venture Bhakti Mein Shakti, a mythological film, completed a record run at Delhi's Imperial Cinema in 1978.[citation needed] He produced 8 films and wrote the story for 7 films.[citation needed] These films were produced and directed under the banner "Dara Film" which he set up in 1970.

Archana Puran Singh has been judging the television reality comedy show known as Comedy Circus since 2006 and is the only judge to have appeared in all episodes.Muhammad Atif In Mumbai, she started doing ad-films and was successful after her most famous ad for Band-Aid. Puneet Issar (born 6 November 1959) is an Indian actor and director, most famous for his role as Duryodhana in the TV adaptation (1988--1990) of the Mahabharata, and directing Garv: Pride and Honour (2004) starring Salman Khan. His other notable roles are in Border, 1997 war film, directed by J. P. Dutta and second lead in the cult Indian horror film Purana Mandir in 1983.
He started his career with the movie Coolie in 1983. During filming an action sequence of this movie, he accidentally injured Amitabh Bachchan nearly fatally and suffered the industry's backlash due to it.Issar starred as a villain in several movies (over 150 Hindi films and 100 regional[citation needed]) during the 1980s and 1990s, like Zakhmi Aurat, Jagruti, Kal Ki Aawaz, Palay Khan, Teja, Prem Shakti and many more, which include the Mohanlal starrers Yodha and Pingami, Salman Khan starrers Sanam Bewafa, Chandramukhi and Suriyavanshi, Akshay Kumar starrer Aashant and multi-starrers like Kshatriya. He also played a villain in the Shahrukh Khan starrer Ram Jaane. He appeared in the hit war film Border. In 1982 he was involved in an on-shoot incident with Amitabh Bachhan. Amitabh got seriously hurt and many blamed Puneet for the accident. He later admitted that he had to face lot of problems in getting roles in movies due to the notoriety of the incident. He also starred in movies, like Krrish, Partner, Aryan,Bachna Ae Haseeno and many more in the 2000's.
He has also directed TV serials such as Hindustani and Jai Mata Ki starring Hema Malini. He has starred in over 12 TV serials like Junoon, Sahil, Noor Jahan, Vikram Aur Betaal and many more. He has appeared in over 1800 episodes on Indian television. He played the role of King Bimbisara in the feature film Gautama Buddha - The Life and Times of Gautama Buddha. He also starred in Left Right Left of the Indian Channel Sab TV. He has also worked in number of Punjabi films such as Rab Ne Banayian Jodiyan and in a few Telugu films. He has also given a brilliant display of his acting skills in the mythological film Suryaputra Shanidev, which released in 1997.
In 2004, Issar directed the film Garv: Pride and Honour starring Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty in lead roles. The opening collections of the film were good, and overall it was declared "Above Average" at the Box office. His latest directorial venture I Am Singh, the story of which is also written by him, released in December 2011. The film did average critically and commercially.
In 2013, Paras Lubricants Ltd signed Mr Puneet Issar as their Brand Ambassador for their range of Automotive Oils and Lubricants. He also played the role of Parashurama in the recent TV series Mahabharat.
